Tuxedo A Go-Go
Last night's tuxedo fitting went quite well. My fiancé and I arrived a bit early to look over the catalog and select the colours and styles we liked. My dad arrived next followed by my future father-in-law, I am SO happy my family gets along with my fiancé's, I have childhood memories of nightmarish holidays with my grandparents and my mother..who did NOT get along. Both dad's get along quite well and crack each other up...so I am glad.
We all ended up selecting the same tux, with colour differences and the like, the only different one is my father who selected a double breasted suit with no vest..he loves his double breasted suits! My Best Man (known as the BM in the rental store) and the only Groomsman (GM) don't live here in Montreal, so they need to be fitted at another suit store and will send along their info to me. My dad (FOG - Father of the Groom) looked great in his trial-suit, he has lost a lot of weight due to various illnesses...but it really helped his cholesterol and beer belly! My future father-in-law was given the unfortunate title of FOB...it didn't take long for everyone to start with the 'you lousy FOB...' or 'that guy is a real FOB' comments...all in good fun.
We ended the night off by picking up some smoked meat sandwiches at one of the greatest deli's on the West Island...then home to watch some Firefly on DVD....all in all a good night!
